Hello everyone! The sunshine has me in such a great mood lately! One thing that makes me happy about summertime is how easily my outfits can be chosen. For days like so, I am thrilled to be able to partner with Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has always been a 1-stop place for our family but this year they have recently become a leader in the affordable fashion realm with their We Dress America campaign! Since starting my blog, it’s always been my goal to share affordability + cute fashion. Check out these adorable spring dresses from Walmart I recently shared and y’all loved!
One of my favorite and go to summer trend is STRIPES. Stripes are such a great bold pattern. What I love about stripes is the versatility of what you can pair with them! Pair bold summer colors with them or keep it simple with neutrals or denim. Today I want to share some cute summer outfits and tips on how to style striped shorts for summer 4 different ways.
How to Style Striped Shorts for Summer
Wear Striped shorts with a shoulder tie tank top
The fabric of this $10 tank top feels amazing and the tied knots really accent your shoulders so nicely. The blue color is the prettiest sand washed shade and looks so good with the colors of my vertical striped shorts colors. Wearing size small. I did add my under $20 wedges with this outfit because they go with anything! A pair of white sneakers with these shorts would make for a super cute outfit also.
Style Striped shorts with a chambray front-tie button up shirt
Chambray has been very trendy this year and the front tie is so adorable! Chambray can really be worn with so many stylish summer outfits, like with a flattering denim short or a pair of high waisted shorts. Since the chambray top is so versatile with it’s oversized buttons and front tie, I wore this outfit with my super casual and comfy under $10 summer slides!
These slides are great dupes of the high-end popular brands at a fraction of the cost! Wearing small in top. Being a little extra, I added white heart shaped sunnies. These fun sunnies can go with all the cute outfits.
Add a bold colored woven top with Striped shorts
This fun bright outfit couldn’t be accomplished without this bold blouse in the prettiest raspberry color. Call me crazy, but I could even see this color worn with a fun pair of black leather shorts or black and white shorts for a more edgy summer look. I like to tuck in the front of the top to either show more of my shorts or you can tuck it in all the way.
I can’t forget to mention that this cami comes in multiple colors and is under $5! Also, I am wearing size small. I chose to wear my Wal-Mart wedges to add style to my outfit and side note: wedges will accent the length of your legs. These wedges add height and they are EXTREMELY affordable.
Try Style Striped shorts with a Casual tank
I am a sucker for high neck tank tops. I think they are so flattering on every body type with the higher neckline. Loved this summery look SO much! After the photo shoot, I totally kept this comfy and cool outfit on and wore it out to dinner with my family. The Vacay woven bag is such a fun touch. Be sure and look at all of the affordable woven bags I linked from Wal-Mart below. I could use one of each please for all of my summer outfits!
Summertime Accessories to style with your striped shorts
Sunglasses are essential. I’ve said it before but I still believe that over-sized sunglasses are the perfect mom accessory! I am obsessed with my new gold trimmed sunglasses because the gold is so pretty! Gold accents can match with any outfit! If you’ve been on my Instagram @curlsandcashmere, then you’ve seen that heart sunglasses are in! I love how fun they are.
Slide Sandals are so easy to throw on your way out the door and pair with any cute outfits this summer season. This pair of white slides are under $10 and I have worn them all spring long.
Woven/Straw Bags – Since I’m a mom, a tote bag is necessary to hold all the miscellaneous items my family might “need” through out the day. The Vacay tote bag will be going with us on every trip! For a cute touch to my outfits and the pool, this circular straw purse is great. Comes with a handle and over the shoulder strap.
