Hi! I cannot believe it is the middle of September already! I love Fall so much … something about the mix of the cooler temps, cozy cardi’s, all the yummy smells, and of course fall decorating! This fall has been a little bit different with my kids on a hybrid schedule for school. And I know lots of your children are on a 100% virtual schedule. With all of that being said and all of the unknowns this year, it really was a mood booster for me to have the house decorated for fall. It’s the little things, right?
Psssst…Did you know you can get all of my paint colors I used in my home by entering your email address at the top of the page ? It only takes a minute and we will never send spam.
Today I wanted to share with you my tips and tricks for decorating your kitchen for fall! I love to bring in warmer neutrals, textures, wooden decor and YEP you guessed it… lots of pumpkins! Let’s take a look at some ideas on how to decorate your kitchen for fall.
How to Decorate your Kitchen for Fall
Start with a Clean Slate
The first thing I do when I am decorating any space is to clear out my existing decor! I love to start with a blank canvas, it really helps to give me a clean slate! Next, I gather all my pumpkins and other fall decor pieces and lay everything out to see! Once I am able to see everything laid out, the creative juices get going!
Floating Shelves
For my floating shelves, I kept my white vases that work all year round and layered in some various pumpkins and vintage wooden cutting boards. I have a variety of pumpkins that I have collected over the years, plus I always add a few new ones each season. I love texture, so I have a collection of pumpkins in velvet, ceramic, sherpa and more!

Cutting boards are a necessity year round in my kitchen so I am always on the hunt for pretty ones that can be on display! This pumpkin one is an old Home Goods find and is one of my favorites! Check out this similar wooden pumpkin board I found! It also makes for a great serving tray for appetizers, etc. if you’re able to have any get togethers this fall.

I changed out the books on my floating shelves. Y’all know I love decorating with coffee table books, it is so easy to do! They add lots of color and dimension to any space, I opted to go with warmer golden tone ones for fall. Lastly for that area I layered in some artwork! The gold frame really helps to pull that fall vibe I was going for all together.
Kitchen Island
The next spot in my kitchen is the kitchen island. I set up a little fall vignette with the prettiest wooden charger. I added a neutral pumpkin, my wooden beads (similar linked here) and some fall florals. And I love all the texture of this vignette, it just screams FALL to me! Over in the corner of my kitchen, I hung up my newest piece of artwork from Studio McGee’s new fall Target collection! It is the perfect neutral addition to my wall and I love the positive affirmation! Then I added a stack of raffia pumpkins next to my stool and a navy patterned pillow. I love the way navy coordinates with all the warmer fall tones!
Some other fun little things I like to do is to change out my kitchen dish towels and sometimes even my kitchen runner to complete my fall vibe.
I hope this quick kitchen tour of my fall decor helped to spark some ideas on how to decorate your kitchen for fall! I would love to see how you did with your own fall decorating. Send me pics on Instagram @curlsandcashmere. Happy Decorating!!
