Hi Friends! Who else is trying to get organized this year? The start of a new year always motivates me to get my house in order. After the holidays, I go on a crazy organizing spree! Think purging, donating and throwing away expired/broken items! I have been sharing a lot of the process in my IG stories over the last couple weeks…bathroom, kids rooms and now on to the kitchen pantry. Today I am SO EXCITED to be sharing all of the practical Pantry Organization Must-Haves that helped transform my pantry from the above mess to organized bliss.
Don’t miss my full blog post on How to Organize your Bathroom.
BEFORE
As you can see, our before pantry was very lived in and just a plain mess. I hadn’t attempted to get it under control for quite some time. With 3 kids and a busy household, the pantry is sometimes the last thing on my mind. Which is totally fine, but it was beginning to make it not functional because I couldn’t find a thing in here and we had so many open boxes with food going stale and not being eaten.
BEFORE
Did I also mention that my husband recently took up a new hobby that was really cramping my style in the pantry? Lol! He starting baking these beautiful and yummy desserts during quarantine and he hasn’t quit! Check out my IG highlights to see his work. Seriously professional looking desserts!
While I love to enjoy them, his new hobby has our pantry FULL of baking ingredients/supplies, new kitchen appliances and tons of baking gadgets. They were stuffed everywhere and anywhere and I knew we needed to get a better system in here.
Practical Pantry Organization Must-Haves
While I LOVE admiring the beautiful pantries seen all over IG and Pinterest, I wanted my kitchen pantry to be functional and stylish yet PRACTICAL as well. I don’t have time to be refilling tons of decorative storage containers and relabeling every day and I know you don’t either!
I contacted the fabulous duo from Relax and Revamp of OKC to make my pantry dream a reality. During the consult, I explained all of my wants and needs, they then sent me over a proposal and a vision for the space. And I think they executed it perfectly! One of my main requests was to organize the pantry in such a way that it would be easy for me to maintain and where I could see a lot of what I had on hand when cooking, making a grocery list and more. Like I mentioned before, while I admire all of the perfectly labeled and decorative pantries all over the web, it’s just not practical for me. Read below for the exact items we used and how we used them.

Acrylic See Through Bins
I specifically asked for see through bins to house a good deal of the perishable food items. With our previous wire and cloth pantry baskets, I found myself not ever using the food that went into the covered bins. I noticed our kids were never finishing all of their snacks that went into those bins either. Out of sight, out of mind if you will. Relax and Revamp came through with a good variety of acrylic options so my family and I could all easily see through the bins and use what was inside.
T.H.E Divided All-Purpose Bin – These clear bins are great because they have removable dividers. They are also a great size so large items will fit nicely in them. I love that they are categorized but practical in that I don’t have to throw away the original containers they all came in. We filled these with food such as pasta, mac and cheese, crackers, breakfast oats, nuts and more items we can see easily.
T.H.E Stacking Pantry Bin – Down below on the lower shelf, we used these clear stacking bins that provide easy access for grab and go snacks and are perfect for the kids. We put these low in the pantry with individually wrapped snack options for the kids so they are able to grab on their own.
WOVEN BASKETS
Small Woven Cube in Natural – On the same lower shelf as the stacking bins, we did incorporate a good amount of labeled woven baskets to house things like coffee pods, nespresso pods, tea and more items that I don’t mind keeping out of sight. See the above image.
The labeled woven baskets keep the items organized while looking good at the same time. R and R used these white labels.
Rectangular Woven Basket – I love these giant woven baskets we used on the other lower shelf. They are huge and deep! One contains all of our lunch boxes and bento boxes and the other contains all paper goods like plates, paper towels and more. I really love the size of these bins and how easily they slide out when I need to grab something inside of them. Below those baskets, they organized random kitchen appliances and a few serving pieces.
Wire Baskets
White Yamazaki Tosca Baskets with Wooden Handles– These wire baskets provided a different look for the pantry while still providing function for my family since you can see the contents inside. We filled them with most all of Casey’s baking goods. The wooden handles make it easy to pull off the shelf and take with him to the kitchen. These would also be good filled with fruits like apples, oranges or potatoes even. The possibilities are endless!
LAZY SUSANS
T.H.E Divided Lazy Susans- These are also see through and fabulous as you can see above! These sit on my open shelves, filled with more snacks and treats! Easy to spot and grab what I am looking for since it spins. These would also be great for storing condiments in the pantry or even in the refrigerator. No more reaching toward the back for things, just spin and grab!
Airtight Food Storage POP containers
OXO Airtight Food Containers – Over on the other wall in my pantry, we already had these airtight acrylic bins that we were able to reuse. Notice, R and R only used a handful of bins so I can maintain them. They filled them with the kids candy, pretzels, chips and stevia packets. They also arranged vases, mason jars and more on the upper narrow shelves.
My pantry has narrow built in shelves on this side, perfect for all my canned & jarred goods. Relax and Revamp was able to organize them so they were aesthetically pleasing without having to use more bins!
More Pantry Organizing Ideas
Relax and Revamp was also able to arrange my small appliances within the space so they were pretty to look at and easy to access on my countertop. I am loving my new air fryer by the way and asked them to make it easily accessible for me. Up on the highest shelving, they organized dishes, serving pieces and more items we don’t use often.
Over by my microwave area, they organized my drawers and the cabinet above the microwave with 4 of my old bins with medicine and random party supplies.
That’s a wrap on my PRACTICAL pantry organization must-haves! You have to do what works best for your family, and as a busy mom of 3, pratical and functional ( while still being visually pleasing) topped the list! With the combination of see-through bins, lazy susans and wicker/wire baskets, we were able to accomplish that in my pantry!
A very special Thank You to the girls from Relax and Revamp! I could not have done it without them! They were came in tackled my mess of a pantry and I could not be happier with the end product!
