Golden Goose sneakers have been extremely popular for several years now but there’s no denying that they’re a big investment, especially for sneakers. After hearing so many great things about the sneakers, I ended up purchasing a pair of my own a few years ago and to this day, they’re my most worn shoes! I also ended up liking them so much, I now own multiple pairs and wear them almost daily.

About The Brand
With an emphasis on “things that are lived in, distressed, and touched with life,” Golden Goose was created in 2000 to provide shoes that looked lived in, which is why their shoes look scuffed or dirty. Each pair of sneakers is handmade and hand-distressed in Venice, Italy, which is why they are more expensive. The brand has some core styles but they release new ones every season!
The Different Golden Goose Sneaker Styles
Golden Goose has several styles of sneakers, but the most common are the Purest, Superstar, Mid-Stars. Each style has a wide variety of colors and styles to choose from, making it easy to find a pair that fits your own personal style!
I personally own the Mid-Star, the shearling-trim Superstar slides, and the classic Superstar (told you I was obsessed!). I highly recommend each pair!
Golden Goose Sneaker Sizing
Golden Goose sneakers generally fit true to size but with that being said, they only come in European whole sizes. I recommend taking a look at the size chart and sticking with your corresponding U.S. size. If you’re in between sizes (like I am!), size up to the next whole size.
I typically wear an 8.5 in shoes but in Golden Goose sneakers, I wear a 39 (9 in European sizing).
How to Tie Golden Goose Sneakers
While you can tie Golden Goose sneakers like traditional sneakers, the most common way to wear them is not tied. Tying them like this is super simple! All you have to do is put on the shoes, make sure your laces are tight enough, and then tie a little knot at the end of each shoelace.
Are They Comfortable?
I find Golden Goose sneakers to be so comfortable! There is a slight break-in period with some styles, but I feel that they end up stretching (not too much!) and conform to your foot shape. This makes them so comfortable! If you’re thinking about wearing them straight out of the box, I highly recommend wearing them around your house with thicker socks for a little bit to stretch them out. I also find them to have a higher insole, which gives them added cushion.
When we were in New York, I packed my Golden Goose sneakers and wore them all day walking around with no issues!
How to Style Golden Goose Sneakers
The great thing about Golden Goose sneakers is that they go with everything! Whether you style them with a dress, your favorite athleisure pieces, or jeans and a t-shirt, you really can’t go wrong. Here are a few ways I’ve styled them in the past!
Are Golden Goose Sneakers Worth It?
So, are they really worth the high price tag? For most people, the honest answer is probably no. At the end of the day, they’re expensive for a sneaker! But with that being said, if you love the look of them, know you’ll get a lot of use out of them, and have the budget, I 100% say YES, they are worth it. When I consider the cost per wear and how often I wear them, they’ve already paid for themselves.
