One of my TOP, most frequently asked questions I get on Instagram @curlsandcashmere is what size of Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote bag I like better…the GM (large size) or the MM (medium size). I have both tote bags but there is 1 I recommend more after using both of the bags for the last several years. Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Review

First, let’s begin with the largest of the tote bags, the GM. The GM is the largest size—15.6 x 12.8 x 7.9 inches(LxHxW) to be exact. I bought this a few years before I had baby #3 to use as my diaper bag. I already had the MM size but loved the idea of a larger size since I was going to have 3 small children at that point and the tote itself is so easy to just throw everything in for the day. And if you are a mama, you know HOW MUCH little things babies/kids need because you can never be too prepared! Snacks, extra clothes, diapers, and more. I used this insert to keep my tote organized and it is very handy.

At this time, Louis Vuitton had just begun custom monogramming bags and so I chose to do the classic Monogram fabric with a custom monogram with 2 of my favorite colors..hot pink and navy (see above for images). It was funny while I was in the LV store in Dallas choosing the colors and font as we didn’t know the sex of the baby yet (turned out it was a GIRL..sweet Vivian) and people thought I was choosing pink and blue because of that reason. They just didn’t realize I love those colors in my home and wardrobe! Ha!

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Size

The GM is very large…sometimes it feels too large to me. I am 5 ft 7″ and 130 lbs. and it is big on my build. With small kids, I am constantly holding my youngest or holding their hands in busy parking lots, and it can get in the way. Also when I go out shopping, I don’t like carrying the LV plus shopping bags I have to lug around. When I go shopping solo, (which I try to do as much as possible), I prefer to take a crossbody bag so my hands are free to carry shopping bags. This is my most used designer crossbody bag.

Also, remember..the bigger the bag, the more junk you can put in it! Which is nice, until it’s so heavy it hurts my shoulders! My husband will ask me..”What in the world do you have in your purse”?!  My favorite thing to use the GM is for when we travel. I can use it as an overnight bag or a carry-on. It is the perfect size as a carry-on and I can fit so much stuff in it for the kids as well as my laptop and travel documents. And of course, plenty of snacks!

Louis Vuitton MM Review & Sizing

The other Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote Size I want to share is the MM tote bag. It is the medium-sized version–12.6 x 11.4 x 6.7 inches (LxHxW). I have the lighter Damier Azur canvas in this size. I personally love this lighter color and wear it so often with any outfit. Also, I have gotten so many questions about how dirty this fabric gets. Girls…I have not had ANY issues with the light Damier leather. I have had my dark denim bleed onto my cream Chloe bag, but not this LV. It has been very durable and has been used a TON!

This MM medium size is the perfect size in my opinion! This is the most used bag in my entire handbag collection! Someone recently asked me on my IG Story if I could only have 1 Louis Vuitton Bag, which would it be? I said hands down it would be this one! I bought this bag when we had just one child and loved the size and how I could fit her snacks, diapers and cup in the bag along with all of my necessities as well. My favorite part is it doesn’t look like a traditional diaper bag, so after she outgrew a diaper bag, I could still have a nice, cute handbag to carry around town! This size is much more conducive to an everyday type bag with plenty of space still. The GM is very large and heavy and that’s why I don’t use it as often.

I love using a good tote organizer in the Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote bag or really any large tote bag! Whether you are using it for a diaper bag, a work bag or just an everyday tote bag, it helps things not get lost in the bag. I have the grey tote savvy organizer shown above in my LV tote bag. I used that when my kids were young and it helped to keep everything from sippy cups, diapers and more kid supplies organized in the tote.

Comparison of the Neverfull Tote Sizes

• • PM-Smallest size–11.4 x 8.7 x 5.1 inches–Personally, I wouldn’t even consider buying this size. If you want something smaller, LV has plenty of other cute options rather than this one.
  • MM-Medium Size–12.6 x 11.4 x 6.7 inches–My personal FAVE! I love this size and use it often as an everyday bag. Very roomy without swallowing you whole.
  • GM–Large Size–15.6 x 12.8 x 7.9 inches –Great option to consider if you want a huge tote. My preference is to use this tote for travel or as an overnight bag.
  • All 3 Totes come with a zippered clutch of the same material. That is SO nice to use as a wallet or clutch. You can see below I have the monogrammed clutch.
