Summer is officially here and as a self-diagnosed shopping addict, I could not be more excited to add some of the season’s newest trends and styles to my closet. From floral dresses to feminine blouses and denim shorts, there are so many pieces I’m excited to incorporate into my wardrobe this season! While I start to do all of my summer shopping, there’s one thing I am keeping in mind: practicality. Between chasing the kids around and working from home, I want all of my summer outfits to be easy and comfortable. By keeping this in mind, the items I do by get worn more often and I really get my money’s worth!
This year, I’ve picked up a lot of dresses and two-piece sets fromWalmart. Not only do they have styles that are on-trend, but they’re also affordable! It truly doesn’t get any better than that. If you’re looking to add some new pieces to your wardrobe this summer, here are some summer outfit ideas that you’ll love!

Elevated Dresses
It’s no secret that summer is filled with all sorts of events. From weddings and showers to work events, there is always so much going on that you’ll need an elevated dress for. And to be honest, I hate spending hundreds of dollars on a dress to only wear it once or twice. Thankfully, I found this dress and love how easy it is to dress up or down, depending on what events I have coming up. One-shoulder tops and dresses are so on trend right now so I was excited to add it to my closet for under $40. The detailing around the stomach/hips is also super flattering! Paired with this dress (only $34!), it’s an easy outfit for a cookout or lunch with friends.
I also ended up loving it so much, I also grabbed it in a second print!
I have a lot of bridal showers and baby showers to attend this summer and this dress is the perfect option! For showers, I always love wearing a feminine print. They always have the perfect balance of dressy and not overly dressy, especially for a day event. It’ll also pair really well with these Scoop woven sandals for brunch!
Two-Piece Sets
If you’ve been into any store or scrolled through social media in the last few months, you know that two-piece sets are having a moment. This is a trend I can absolutely get behind, too! Two-piece sets look so intentional and put together, but are even easier than a dress. When I saw this white smocked one from Free Assembly, I knew I had to have it. The top covers enough and the shorts are on the longer side, so it’s great for chasing the kids around or running errands. Paired with these $34 raffia platform sandals (also a big trend this year!), you’ll feel great in what you’re wearing but still be comfortable.
Casual Dresses
Scoop is one of my favorite brands for casual dresses. Every design they come out with is fun, on-trend, comfortable, affordable, and great quality. One of the dresses I recently picked up from them is this dress. I love all of the colors for the summer months and love it paired with a simple pair of sandals by day and a platform sandal by night. This under $40 printed mini dress is also on my list from Scoop, along with this Free Assembly slip dress. The print and colors are SO good! I’ll definitely be pairing both with these slide sandals and these platform sandals.
If you’re looking for easy, affordable summer outfit ideas, both Free Assembly and Scoop by Walmart have so many good finds! Plus, you can shop them online so it makes things even easier. If you have any styling or sizing questions, send me a DM on Instagram!
